This month’s club will discuss Hillbilly Elegy. Based on his life story, J.D. Vance shares what it was like growing up in Appalachia Kentucky and then his family’s move to Ohio in hopes of the “American dream”. Although, he has since achieved great things, it wasn’t easy to get there and Vance portrays the poor Appalachia lifestyle and the crisis that still continues.
